PORTLAND, Ore. – The Multnomah County Sheriff's Office said an 88-year-old woman fended off a naked intruder by grabbing the man's crotch and squeezing. Deputy Paul McRedmond said the man got into the house Tuesday through a sliding door. He backed the woman into her living room and pushed her face down onto a chair.
That's when the woman reached behind and squeezed. The man tore free and fled.

It gets better. The guy's name is MICHAEL DICK!!!!!

Happy Hannukah!!!
"And it came to pass in those days that a decree went out from Caesar Augustus that all the world should be registered. This census first took place while Quirinius was governing Syria. So all went to be registered, everyone to his own city. Joseph also went up from Galilee, out of the city of Nazareth, into Judea, to the city of David, which is called Bethlehem, because he was of the house and family of David, to be registered with Mary, his betrothed wife, who was with child. So it was, that while they were there, the days were completed for she should be delivered. And she brought forth her firstborn Son, and wrapped Him in swaddling cloths, and laid Him in a manger, because there was no room for them in the inn.
Now there were in the same country shepherds living out in the fields, keeping watch over their flock by night. And behold, an angel of the Lord stood before them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were greatly afraid. Then the angel said to them, 'Do not be afraid, for behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy which will be to all people. For there is born to you this day in the city of David a Savior, who is Christ the Lord. And this will be the sign to you: You will find a Babe wrapped in swaddling cloths, lying in a manger.' And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God and saying: 'Glory to God in the highest, And on earth peace, to men of goodwill!' So it was, when the angels had gone away from them into heaven, that the shepherds said to one another, 'Let us now go to Bethlehem and see this thing that has come to pass, which the Lord has made known to us.' And they came with haste and found Mary and Joseph, and the Babe lying in a manger. Now when they had seen Him, they made widely known the saying, which was told them concerning this Child. And all those who heard it marveled at those things, which were told them by the shepherds. But Mary kept all these things and pondered them in her heart. Then the shepherds returned, glorifying and praising God for all the things that they had heard and seen, as it was told them." (Luke 2:1-20)

This was the stupidest todo ever. Hillary is a big girl and has been in politics a long time. She didn't freak, so why did other people? Besides when Hustler said that Jerry Falwell had had sex with his mother and Rev. Falwell sued for libel, the court ruled that it was satire and, therefore, allowable. That is okay but this is not?

This just about says it all.

Two views of the Immaculate Conception. The first is by Velasquez-the second by Murillo.
Just in case any one reads this blog. I am going into Latrobe Hospital on Monday. My legs are seriously infected again. It is also the Feast of the Immaculate Conception.

"O Mary conceived without sin, pray for us who have recourse to thee."
"Holy Mary, Mother of G-d, pray for us sinners now and at the hour of our death."
"Ark of the Covenant pray for us." This is by favorite title for the BVM. It is from her litany.

Just in case they get a brain before tomorrow. NBC, the network that brings you MSNBC and, therefore, Keith Olberman, has been running a promo for a "Holiday Special" They show a clip of Bing Crosby and run the name of White Christmas over it and refer to the movie as White Christmas in the voice over. The problem is that the black and white clip is from the movie Holiday Inn where the song White Christmas first appeared. Accuracy in media at the GE owned network. BTW how many clips of Hannukah movies do you think you will see on the Holiday Special?
If you are a fan of Star Trek-TOS and not a fan of Keith Olberman, try this link:

A SOUTH Wales couple caught in the Mumbai terror attacks claimed last night that CNN put their lives at risk by broadcasting where they were.
Lynne and Kenneth Shaw, of Penarth, warned that terrorists were listening in to the media to pinpoint Western victims.

Mrs Shaw claimed the American cable TV channel had broadcast details of where they were at the Taj Mahal Palace Hotel.

She has appealed to the media to be careful with the information it broadcasts because safety could be compromised and lives lost.

The couple flew back into Heathrow yesterday morning on a flight arranged by the British Consulate.

Mrs Shaw had been forced to hide under a table as terrorists stormed the Taj Mahal Palace Hotel.

She and her husband were later rescued by Gurkhas and taken straight to the Australian Embassy for safety.

The couple were at the end of a month-long visit to India and were staying in Mumbai for a few days before heading back to the UK.

From her home in Penarth yesterday, Mrs Shaw said: “We have been asked by the British terror police not to talk to the press.

“But the reason I would not want to talk to anyone is because our safety was actually compromised by CNN, which broadcast where we were.

“The terrorists were watching CNN and they came down from where they were in a lift after hearing about us on television. For that reason I would appeal to the media to be very careful about what they broadcast.

“When we left Mumbai there were still around 100 people trapped there.”

Terror in Bombay made worse by CNN. Note that the couple were rescued by Gurkhas but taken to the Australian Embassy for safety before they were returned to the UK.

BATON ROUGE, LA - After their crushing defeat in November the Republican Party was left with no clear leader. Louisiana Governor Bobby Jindal hopes to fill the power vacuum, and has entered talks with Satan to do just that.

Jindal and his lawyers contacted the Prince of Darkness, most likely through Craigslist, and are currently negotiating an IS-w1 deal, immortal soul for one wish, that would have Jindal crowned the figurehead of the Republican Party. Despite his formidable legal team, if granted the nomination Jindal will certainly not escape with his soul.

Jindal is well acquainted with Satan, having led his high school Exorcism team to the state championships three years in a row.

If the deal goes through and he is chosen he will be anointed with ram’s blood in the basement of the Fox News headquarters.

More on this story, as it develops.

Does this person make anyone else nervous?

God raised up Barack Obama for one purpose, to wit, to usher doomed america and the world to final destruction. You should close your big mouths for once in your worthless meaningless vain lives, and spend some time reading Danie 8 and Revelation 12, 13 and 14, and get a stinkin’ clue you bombastic bunch of brutes! Judgment Day she cometh! And this doomed unjust unmerciful nation is just the people who fully understand judgment day. You love to put people on trial; you love your rules, policies and procedures; you love your courtroom dramas; and you love to put people in prison and throw away the key. You are the very picture of the tyrant unmerciful nation that God will judge and find wanting; and you will be absolutely without excuse when you stand your mean butts before the White Throne. You gave no mercy; you get no mercy!

This is the ninety ninth anniversary of the birth of Johnny Mercer, the third greatest lyricist and the fourth dreatest composer-lyricist of the American musical scene. His ASCAP list is simply incredible, but for those not historically minded may I say two Oscars, one for "Moon River" and one for "The Days of Wine and Roses" For the historically minded, the other two wins from his nineteen nominations were "On the Atchison-Topeka and the Santa Fe" and "In the Cool, Cool, Cool of the Evening" which he wrote with Hoagy Carmichael. Mercer's "Skylark" also written with Carmichael is one of the most lyrical pieces of music written in the Twentieth Century.

I was watching a special on the Tungusku Explosion and theories of its origin. One of the scientists held that an incursion of "mirror matter" caused this event. I have never heard of mirror matter before. Is it like anti-matter? Is there dark mirror matter? If we substitute "mirror mass" in Einstein's equation, do we get "mirror energy". Would that be the same as "dark energy"?

Yes, Tungusku really happened. It is not just a joke in Ghostbusters.
Yes, Gene Rodenberry did not invent Anti-matter.

For any SGA fans out there.
I just finished rereading Agatha Christie's Murder on the Orient Express then I watched the Albert Finney movie. They both are excellent examples of their genres, but the book is better as a mystery. The movie ignores several clues and plot points to shorten an already overlong film-from the producers' not the audience's viewpoint. The cast of the movie, however, is one of those accumulations of acting power seldom seen in modern movies-Lauren Bacall, Ingrid Bergman, Wendy Hiller, Vanessa Redgrave, Martin Balsam, Sean Connery, John Gieguld, Anthony Perkins, and Richard Widmark. WOW! What a bunch. I did not include Pierre Cassel as he is French and not much known in the US.

Michael Crichton died last Tuesday. He was 66. He was not only an author but also a director and producer. He was a SF writer in the sense that he based his novels on extrapolations of current science, i.e. The Andromeda Strain and Jurrasic Park as well as the underrated Terminal Man. He was an MD and his Five Patients is a non-fiction account of cases at Mass General where he trained after graduating from Harvard. It is probably his best book although I love The Great Train Robbery in both its book and movie forms. If you have not seen it, rent it!

I am tired of an error that has been around a long time. It is even propagated by Ayn Rand. It is the error of Robin Hood. In Atlas Shrugged, Ragnar Danskold says that he is trying to reverse the myth of RH. That is what it is, a myth. If one reads the books or looks at the 1939 movie, one sees that RH takes money from the TAX COLLECTORS and TAX SPENDERS-i.e. the Abbot of the Black Friars and returns it to the people who have had the tax extorted from them sometimes by torture. Embrace Robin of Locksley, my friends. He was a medieval conservative.

Woman Attacked At ATM, Assailant Carves Letter Into Her Face

Woman Robbed, Attacked With Knife At Bloomfield ATM

POSTED: 4:03 pm EDT October 23, 2008
UPDATED: 5:12 pm EDT October 23, 2008

PITTSBURGH -- A 20-year-old woman who was robbed at an ATM in Bloomfield was also maimed by her attacker, police said.
Pittsburgh police spokeswoman Diane Richard tells Channel 4 Action News that the victim was robbed at knifepoint on Wednesday night outside of a Citizens Bank near Liberty Avenue and Pearl Street just before 9 p.m.
Richard said the robber took $60 from the woman, then became angry when he saw a McCain bumper sticker on the victim's car. The attacker then punched and kicked the victim, before using the knife to scratch the letter "B" into her face, Richard said.
Richard said the woman refused medical treatment after the assault, which happened outside the view of the bank's surveillance cameras.
The robber is described as a dark-skinned black man, 6 feet 4 inches tall, 200 pounds with a medium build, short black hair and brown eyes. The man was wearing dark colored jeans, a black undershirt and black shoes.
The Obama-Biden campaign released a statement, commenting on the attack. The statement said "Our thoughts and prayers are with the young woman for her to make a speedy recovery, and we hope that the person who perpetrated this crime is swiftly apprehended and brought to justice."

PUSSYCAT DOLL NICOLE SCHERZINGER has invited U.S. vice presidential candidate SARAH PALIN to join the sexy girl group, if her election campaign fails next month (Nov08).

The singer is convinced former beauty queen Palin has got what it takes to join the all-singing all-dancing five-piece.

The SpikeTv show Manswers answered the pressing scientific question:

Surely this is way more important than discovering dark matter.

But just to show where science and capitalism lead: Earth from Space at Night, and NO it is not flat!
Well just a note to cheer us all up. The Hadron Supercollider at CERN is still out of service, so we will not be sucked into a black hole anytime soon. On the other hand, we will not find the Higgs Boson or Dark Energy either, so is the survival of the human race really more important then scientific knowledge?

US Marines for Congress
Posted on October 7th, 2008 by Ogre
Have any of you see the silly commercial showing “If Firemen ran Congress?” Just imagine if Congress were full of Marines (and no, Murtha doesn’t count, he’s a clear example of a ex-Marine). Kieran Michael Lalor is one such Marine, running for Congress in New York. Sounds good to me.

And there’s 17 other Republican Iraq vets running for Congress as well. Right now, after this bailout, it’s crystal clear there needs to be A LOT of change in Congress. Every last one of those Congressmen and Senators who voted for the bailout should be voted out — no matter their party or position on other issues. They’ve sold out the country. Support anyone who runs against them.

Palin won on artistic expression, all but the East German judge thought so.
From Tammy Bruce's blog:

Rudy Giuliani blasted prominent conservative columnists who have criticized Republican vice presidential nominee Sarah Palin as being unqualified and even worthy of being removed from the GOP ticket...“I think they look like a bunch of jerks after the debate the other night,” Giuliani said. “I think they should all say they made a mistake.”

Giuliani said Palin did a “terrific job” at the debate, overcoming the pressure put on her to perform well in front of 70 million people.

“I can’t remember a candidate who’s done a better job than her,” he said.

When Giuliani was presented with recent polls showing a minority of respondents believe Palin won the debate, he dismissed polls as stacked against Republicans.

“Republicans never win polls, they win elections,” he said.

If "other countries" take money out of the US economy, where are they going to invest it? I hear that the Sri Lankan stock market is undervalued or may be that is just valued. For a little over seven dollars plus postage, you beloved reader, if there are any, can buy a book titled Rules for Radicals. The author is Saul Alinsky the mentor of William Ayres and, I am told HRC. It is the book which defines what a "community organizer" is and what he is to do. You will find it enlightening. "Community organizers"
are, according to Alinsky, less like Christ and more like Barrabas.

Have a nice day.

From a Michael Smerconish column in the Philadelphia Inquirer on 9-08-08.

I ran into David L. Cohen, executive vice president of Comcast and former chief of staff to Mayor Rendell. David is one of the most politically astute individuals anywhere. When our talk turned to Palin, Cohen told me that he had just entertained Alaska's governor at the brand-new Comcast Center.

In July, Palin was in Philadelphia to attend a reception during the Na tional Governors Association's annu al meeting. Cohen said he first saw her standing on the 43d floor, hold ing newly born Trig. Talk about calm before the storm. Cohen ended up giving Palin a tour of the building.

I asked him for a firsthand assessment of the woman few had[verb edited for tense by blogger] met who was about to make her speech at the RNC.

"Having met her, having met John McCain on a number of occasions, I understand why he chose her," Cohen said. "He sees a lot of him in her. She's a blunt speaker. She's very direct. She's got guts. She's tough as nails."

For the first time in two weeks, I wasn't being fed talking points. Cohen, a Democrat who has rubbed shoulders with every political player on a state and national level, was telling me there was a very special quality in the candidate .
Be sure to read Christopher Hitchens's column on Obamessiah on Little Green Footballs.

According to todays Daily Telegraph, Baroness Warnock who is a government advisor and ethicist said in an interview:

The veteran Government adviser said pensioners in mental decline are "wasting people's lives" because of the care they require and should be allowed to opt for euthanasia even if they are not in pain.
She insisted there was "nothing wrong" with people being helped to die for the sake of their loved ones or society.
The 84-year-old added that she hoped people will soon be "licensed to put others down" if they are unable to look after themselves.

Well, I wonder which one of you will get the license when I am NOT ready to go?
"helped to die" I wonder if that means drugs or smother the old bastard? Lots of questions-few answers.

Thought this was neat. The moon and three planets. You may have to open the link in a new window to see it.
I was sitting in the dayroom of Sheesley Hall when the first plane hit the North Tower. The kids, freshmen, came back to the dorm shortly thereafter. The second plane hit. The boys were reasonably calm until an idiot on a local Pittsburgh station, maybe in response to Shanksville, began talking about Downtown as a target. The kids then went ballistic and tried to call their parents who worked in Pittsburgh or who lived close to Downtown- Mount Lebanon for example. I spent the rest of the day talking to the boys and trying to calm them down.

Well, I have been absent watching the anti-Palin firestorm. The most bizarre charges, contradictory ones even, have been levied. ALL have proven false. Yes she had a baby. No, she did not try to ban books in the Wasilia Library. No, her husband's partner did not try to have his divorce records sealed to hide an affair with Sarah.
I could go on but why bother. This stuff must drive Obamsessiah disciples crazy as it causes blue collar moms-i.e. Reagan Democrats- to become aware of her views.

Bosworth Field

I started this blog a little late to commemorate the slaying of King Richard III at Bosworth Field on 22 August 1485 by the bastard usurper Henry Tudor. May G-d have mercy on the souls of those who fell so long ago on both sides. Read Josephine Tey's mystery "The Daughter of Time to learn some of the truth about this most maligned king.

To the left is the painting from the National Portrait Gallery, London which Tey mentions in her book.

Well, the Comolympics are over, so we should begin to look at politics. I don't like the idea but we SHOULD as one of the idiots will be the king for the next four years.
